Shohoriku: Saigokin Gold Lightan The Golden Warrior - Denji Lightan

Shohoriku has officially announced the new model kit from the Saigokin line of Denji Lightan from Gold Lightan: The Golden Warrior, officially licensed by Tatsunoko.
The Saigokin line aims to offer consumers a dual experience: the joy of building their own model and the fun of playing with die-cast metal figures.
The company offers a model kit with alloy parts featuring a robust construction design with easy-to-remove sprues, allowing fans to bring their creations to life in a unique and personal way.
“Ōgon Senshi Gold Lightan” (Gold Lightan: The Golden Warrior) is an anime series produced in 1981 by Tatsunoko, consisting of 52 episodes. It was a great success in Japan and Hong Kong.
Shohoriku is introducing the fifth model in the series following Gold Lightan, Scope Lightan, I.C. Lightan and Time Lightan.
The Denji Lightan (literally “Electromagnetic Lightan”) is renowned among the Lightan Corps for its exceptional electronic detection and intelligence analysis capabilities.
As the team’s communications specialist and tactical navigator, it excels at deciphering enemy signals, locating hidden bases, and guiding the team through uncharted territory.
Thanks to its sophisticated electronic systems, it always uncovers the crucial clues needed to complete the mission.
The Shohoriku development team conducted extensive research into the original settings and iconic scenes from the anime, faithfully incorporating the Denji Lightan’s control console, navigation map, and intelligence-gathering functions into the model’s mechanical design and lighting effects.
When the unit opens, the familiar detection sequence comes to life, bringing to life the thrill of fighting alongside Gold Lightan during that unforgettable era: activate it once and the mission objective is revealed.
The model is made of plastic and die-cast metal, measuring 12.2 cm tall in robot form and 6.9 cm in lighter form.
In detail, the model features an innovative automatic lifting mechanism for the control console. When the head section is opened, it automatically raises the control console hidden inside the neck via a synchronized linkage mechanism.
The console’s red and green indicator lights illuminate simultaneously along with the glowing eyes, perfectly recreating the classic anime scene where DenJi Lightan enters information search mode. From quiescent to activated, every movement is fluid and seamless, creating a vivid sense of mechanical life.
In addition, by opening the abdominal compartment to reveal the module with the integrated lenticular map, you can recreate the iconic scene from episode 49 of the anime series.
You can apply the exclusive lenticular map sticker to the designated location at will and create your own secret navigation system. Once the chest and abdomen lights are activated, the map coordinates become clearly visible, faithfully recreating the memorable scene from Episode 49 where DenJi Lightan deciphers crucial intelligence information.
Using the same keychain with a gold-plated metal tag as the I.C. Lightan (not included with this model), you can activate the model’s various lighting functions.
Simply hold the keychain close to the sensor area on the model’s back to activate different modes:

First activation: The control console and eyes remain continuously illuminated

Second activation: The control console and eyes enter a pulsating light mode

Third activation: The chest and abdomen map illumination is activated

Fourth activation: All lighting systems turn off

Just like the signal-activated special devices seen in the anime, every operation becomes an immersive and interactive experience.
Great attention has been paid to the classic proportions of the mini warrior from the original anime, faithfully preserving DenJi Lightan’s distinctive head design and intricate mechanical details, offering both collectible value and authentic character appeal.
Featuring a sophisticated multi-jointed structure for fluid and natural movements, whether performing reconnaissance missions, analyzing intelligence, or recreating the anime’s iconic heroic poses, the model can easily assume a wide range of dynamic poses.
Hip joints allow for a wide range of movement, significantly enhancing poseability, and the feet are designed for optimal contact with the ground, ensuring a stable stance even in challenging tactical poses, making the model ideal for both play and display.
In detail, the package includes the main body and the 2 pre-assembled arms, 1 set of blisters with the various parts to be assembled using modeling pliers, the lenticular sticker, the lighting module with pre-installed magnetic sensor and the instructions.
The model will be available for pre-order in a limited run of 500 copies at ACGHK 2026, which will be held from July 24th to 28th at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Center.
The model is scheduled to be released between the end of August and early september 2026.
