Shohoriku has officially announced the new model kit from the Saigokin line of Time Lightan from Gold Lightan: The Golden Warrior, officially licensed by Tatsunoko.
The Saigokin line aims to offer consumers a dual experience: the joy of building their own model and the fun of playing with die-cast metal figures.
The company offers a model kit with a die-cast metal skeleton featuring a robust construction design with easy-to-remove sprues, allowing fans to bring their creations to life in a unique and personal way.
“Ōgon Senshi Gold Lightan” (Gold Lightan: The Golden Warrior) is an anime series produced in 1981 by Tatsunoko, consisting of 52 episodes and it was a great success in Japan, but also in Hong Kong.
Shohoriku is offering the fourth model in the series in the Saigokin line, following Gold Lightan, Scope Lightan, and I.C. Lightan.
The Time Lightan is responsible for the planning of the Lightan Corps and, as his name suggests, has the ability to freeze time, preventing enemies from moving for 30 seconds, as well as the ability to travel to the past and future.
The model is made of plastic and die-cast metal and stands approximately 13,8 cm tall in robot form and 8,3 cm in lighter form, featuring articulated head, arms, and legs.
The model features an LED light-up function that reproduces the 30-second countdown of the time-freezing effect, just like in the anime.
Produced in limited quantities, the model is now available for pre-order on the official Shohoriku website in the coming days at the discounted price of HK$238 / $ 30 (after which the full price will be HK$268 / $ 34), with a release date set for August 2026.
In addition, Shohoriku will host a pop-up event on June 13th at its official headquarters, where it will offer 300 copies of the new Time Lightan for sale.
